Dr. Boggess recommends these two treatments be used together. Aknebright targets the irritation and redness of acne lesions, especially the pustules and papules of severe acne. It also reduces hyperpigmentation. Aknebright’s LiquiPatch™ technology gets its ingredients into the skin faster than other products made to fight acne.
To begin, clean and pat your skin dry before applying Aknebright, then cover the area to be treated with a thin layer of the product. Since Aknebright can dry out the skin, you should start with one application per day, then work up to applying it two to three times per day.
Follow Aknebright treatment with Vitascrub. Salicylic acid has long been used as a mild exfoliant to remove the dead, upper layers of skin and reveal the new, fresh layer beneath it. Vitascrub with salicylic acid also removes the bacteria and oil that lead to acne and helps lock moisture into the skin.
To use Vitascrub, moisten skin, apply the scrub, massage into the skin for at least a minute, then rinse with lukewarm water. Vitascrub can be used daily or two or three times a week.
Glycogent™ Exfoliation Accelerator and Offects® Exfoliating Cleanser
Glycogent is another exfoliant that uses lactic and glycolic acids. It has emollients that soothe the skin and vitamins A and E. These are antioxidants that protect the skin against damage from the sun’s ultraviolet rays and reduces the appearance of freckles and lentigines as well as acne. This improvement lasts for about five months. Apply two to four pumps in the morning and follow up with Offects® Exfoliating Cleanser.
Offects removes the dead top layer of skin through microscopic, exfoliating beads. It contains vitamin E and salicylic acid and is an excellent cleanser for skin that’s normal to oily. It unclogs pores, which is important since clogged pores often lead to acne lesions, and it soothes the skin with tea tree oil and meadowsweet extract. Lipopeptide-myristoyl pentapeptide-8 stimulates the body to produce collagen, which keeps the skin juicy and supple. To apply, moisten hands with water, dampen face or neck, massage Offects into the skin for about a minute, then rinse.
